Alice in Wonderland is hands down my favorite Disney movie. Much like the lucky cat piece, so far these flowers have come together as a product of idle time. I often watch Twitch streams while sitting at my desk (and when I am not streaming) so I usually work on something while watching. My plan is to make a whole scene of the singing flowers.
Sometimes I create pieces that I don’t work on stream or are pieces that I pick up and put down between other pieces that I am working on. This lucky cat (black is meant to ward off evil spirits) is a bit of a side project that I have been working on off and on for a little while. This piece is larger than most of the stuff that I work on (usually around 4″x6″) so it’s been nice to work on a more sizable piece.
This is still a work in progress, I have a lot of the fine details to add, so I will post an update as soon as it’s done!
Recently I agreed to take part in an upcoming local art show – while these always prove to be very fun, they also prove to give me a fair amount of anxiety too. The theme of the show is loosely around “love” and I personally do not have a lot of current inventory that fits this theme, so I have been hard at work the last few days working on brainstorming some new ideas for things to work on prior to the show. Pictured below are a few Mickey Mouse hand hearts based on one of my favorite pins on my jacket. Once fully completed they will be mounted on blank cards.
